Xiaomi Sets New Record With Latest Technology That Can Fully Charge A Device In 8 Minutes

Xiaomi has just introduced a system that is capable of charging a device to 100% in only eight minutes. The system is currently Xiaomi’s fastest charging technology and it’s setting a new world record.
Xiaomi recently unveiled the HyperCharge system, a new technology that breaks the existing record in smartphone charging systems, both wired and wireless. It uses a 200W wired charging technology that charges a smartphone to full capacity in just eight minutes, surpassing Oppo’s current record of charging a 4,000mAh battery system in 20 minutes with a 125W system, reported The Verge.
In a tweet, Xiaomi uploaded a video demonstrating HyperCharge’s actual performance. “Too good to be true? Check out the timer yourself!” its caption read.

In the time-lapse video, an m11 Pro powered by a 4,000mAh battery could be seen being charged using Xiaomi’s 200W wired charging technology. Sitting next to the smartphone was a timer to monitor the actual battery charging phases.
The video clearly showed that using the wired HyperCharge system, the m11 Pro reached the 100% battery percentage almost exactly in the eighth minute of charging.
Interestingly, the m11 Pro in the video was able to reach half of its full charging capacity in just three minutes, Gizmochina pointed out in a report.
Aside from the HyperCharge 200W wired charging technology, Xiaomi also introduced its latest innovation in wireless charging. In fact, the latter part of the video showed a similar device being charged using a 120W wireless charger. Using the same timer monitor, the figures showed that the m11 Pro reached its full battery charging capacity in no more than 15 minutes.
Back in 2019, Xiaomi announced its plan to release a fast charger that could fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in 17 minutes with a 100W system. However, the 2020 release of the m11 10 Ultra, which could charge a 4,500mAh battery in 23 minutes with a 120W system, did not seem to meet the expectations.
Xiaomi’s HyperCharge, as well as the 120W wireless charging, preceded the company’s current smartphone charging technology. In October 2020, the phone maker introduced the 80W wireless charging, which could charge Xiaomi’s 4,000 mAh smartphones at full capacity in 19 minutes.
