Park Seo-joon might soon be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The South Korean star, who was last seen in Netflix’s Itaewon Class, has bagged his first Hollywood project. He will be joining Brie Larson in The Marvels, the sequel to Captain Marvel.

PARK SEO-JOON JOINS THE MARVELS

According to reports, Park Seo-joon will begin filming for the MCU film in the second half of 2021. The film is scheduled for release in November 2022. The actor is currently shooting for the Korean film Concrete Utopia, opposite Park Bo-young

Park Seo-joon is one of the most popular South Korean actors who has a fan-following across the world. The 32-year-old is known for his TV series like She Was Pretty, Fight For My Way, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Itaewon Class. He was also a part of Oscar-winning film Parasite (2019).

ABOUT THE MARVELS

Along with Park Seo-joon and Brie Larson, the cast of The Marvels include Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani and Zawe Ashton. Ashton will be seen as the main antagonist in the film directed by Nia DaCosta. Megan McDonnell, a story editor on the Marvel-based series WandaVision, has penned the script for The Marvels.

In the first film, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers was a human who gets involved in the war between two alien races, the Kree and shape-shifting Skrulls. She receives incredible power after surviving an explosion tied to an alien engine, turning her into Captain Marvel. She becomes one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first Captain Marvel, directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, was a massive success. The audience then saw Captain Marvel in a pivotal role in Avengers Endgame.
