The Advantages And Disadvantages Of HTML Certifications

If you make websites as a hobby or as a living, you probably code with HTML. This language helps you make your templates and pages more interesting and appealing to those who go to the sites that you make. One thing that you can get as an HTML coder are HTML certifications. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of these types of certifications?

There are a few advantages. First of all, you will look better to any clients that might be considering hiring you. When you have a certification, it looks that you know exactly what you are doing.

When you learn a certification, you will have to take a test. This means that you have will to memorize and learn things about HTML that you may have never encountered before. You could add to your skills through this process.

You will attract more clients. People like seeing qualifications and feel more comfortable with someone with a certificate showing that they are competent.

There are also a few disadvantages as well. First of all, if you know HTML fairly well, you might not really improve your skills and end up wasting your time with a certification. You could only be learning technical things that you never use in real life.

It will take up your time, your energy, and your money to prepare and take the tests. You could be learning practical things or doing more work instead.

All of these certifications are unofficial. There isn’t real accreditation behind any of these. One isn’t necessarily better than the others either.

A quality resume from well known clients will do more for you than having some seal, logo, or certificate.

You might look into doing the process especially if you have been around HTML for a long time since it’s can’t hurt you.
